Did You Know?

Only one-third of the adult population have made their Wills.

This means that the Law dictates what is to happen in the other two-thirds.

Many people know that writing a Will is something that has to be done, it’s an essential and so this leaves us asking; why haven’t more of us written our Wills?

Especially since it’s the only way to ensure that our final wishes are carried out and the people we choose benefit.
But we all put off making a Will, perhaps because we find it daunting or maybe we believe we are tempting fate and so many of us will never get round to it at all.

There are too many questions that need to be answered, where do I go to make my Will? What else do I need to think about? Where will I find the time? How much does it cost?

It’s hardly surprising therefore, that only one-third of the adult population die having a valid Will in place.

But with the right Will, you could:

Ensure that your loved ones are properly provided for

Make it easier and quicker for your loved ones to deal with your assets and belongings when you die

Prevent certain family members from benefiting

Potentially reduce or eliminate Inheritance Tax

Choose how your children should be cared for and by whom

Leave charitable gifts to causes close to your heart

We’ve made it easy, not only will you get the Will Writing service you need but we’ll also include a Lasting Power of Attorney absolutely free of charge.

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) isn’t just in case you become mentally incapable, it can also be used in case of an accident, hospital stay or an extended trip abroad.

It is common for people to think their spouse or next of kin would automatically be able to take over their affairs and make decisions should they become unable to BUT this is NOT the case; unless there is a registered LPA in place (or a signed EPA).

The alternative to having an LPA in place is very slow and costly and involves applying to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order, something most people would want to avoid.
